Another Health Benefit of Red Wine

Numerous studies have shown that the moderate consumption of red wine can help prevent heart disease, heart attacks and strokes.

According to research at the University of Missouri, indications are that red wine also could protect against common food-borne diseases such as E. coli and Listeria.

The research showed that food-borne pathogens are no match for the antimicrobial properties of red wines--particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Merlot.
