All of us have many reasons to be thankful, even if they're not always obvious.

That's why each Thanksgiving Day, we seek out a story that underscores the reason for the holiday.

This year, countless men and women seeking careers, or seeking to better their careers, in the wine industry have a new reason to be thankful.

That reason: Approximately $20,000 in scholarships per year will be available to students studying for an MBA degree from the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University.

The new program is courtesy of the Zinfandel Advocates & Producers trade organization, and honors the memory of ZAP's founder, Donn Reisen, who died earlier this year.

Sonoma State offers these MBA classes during the evening hours, which enables students working in the wine industry to attend without sacrificing their livelihoods. Obviously, those not presently in the industry also may attend classes and apply for the scholarship assistance.

You may learn more about the program and Donn Reisen by reading the North Bay Business Journal's report at: http://www.northbaybusinessjournal.com/16781/zin-group-establishes-500000-scholarship-endowment-for-ssu-wine-program/

Meanwhile, a very Happy Thanksgiving from all of your friends at Vinesse.
