Ludwig van Beethoven was one of the great composers of classical music.

Chris Thile is a mandolin virtuoso who has played in a number of acclaimed "Americana" bands, including the critically acclaimed bluegrass group, Nickel Creek.

Their musical styles and preferences may be quite different, but these two talented men share an appreciation of wine.

Noted Beethoven: "A glass of wine is great refreshment after a hard day's work."

Thile takes it even further, acknowledging and embracing wine's social contribution:

"You meet a great person at a festival, (then don't see) him for a year and you need to get the conversation started... That's the time for a great bottle of wine. That gets you talking."
