    Our friends at Alexander Valley Vineyards came up with this wonderful recipe a few years ago. We've tried it with Cabernet Sauvignon (as the recipe calls for), as well as Merlot, Primitivo, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel . . . and every time, it turns out delicious! It's best made with an ice cream maker, and if you have such a machine, it's extremely easy to assemble. Enjoy!

* 1 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon (or other red wine)
* 1 cup sugar
* 4 cups cream
* 2-3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

     Place the wine and sugar in a large saucepan. Heat to dissolve the sugar.

     Reduce the syrup to 1 1/2 cups. Chill the wine syrup completely.

     Mix the cream, wine syrup and lemon juice.

     Place the mixture in your ice cream maker, and turn on the motor (or start cranking).
